All our teas are certified 100% organic…
We hear a lot about organic foods these days. But what exactly does that mean?
Organic foods are produced without synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers, and are processed without irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives. Organic food production is a heavily regulated industry. Currently, the European Union, the United States, Canada, Japan and many other countries require producers to obtain special certification in order to market food as organic within their borders.
Boston Tea Campaign is certified by Green America. To receive this prestigious certification, a company must demonstrate environmentally responsible sourcing, manufacturing, and marketing, as well as extraordinary practices benefitting workers, customers, the local communities, and the environment.
The Swiss-based Institute for Market Ecology (IMO), founded in 1989, provides quality control services and certification of organic, eco-friendly and socially responsible products throughout the world. We are proud to have received organic certification for our teas from IMO as well.
Many of our teas also bear the seal of “ Naturland,” one of the major organic farming associations. Naturland attributes the same importance to issues of social responsibility as to organic expertise. Together, our certifications from these organizations recognize our efforts to provide a “super-organic” product through environmentally responsible methods.
