The Tea Companion: A Connoisseur's Guide

By Jane Pettigrew.

book coverThe Tea Companion is a rich source of reference and inspiration, and a resourceful guide for both the average tea drinker and the tea aficionado. The first part of the book explores “The Story of Tea” and deals with the brew’s history, its production and its preparation. It includes a very useful chapter on “Tea Appreciation,” which gives advice on what tea to buy and where to buy it; it also discusses the pros and cons of tea bags. The second part consists of a “Global Tea Directory.” It describes each tea region of the world, lists each region’s best teas and details their characteristics. The Tea Companion has been published in several editions by now, most recently in 2004 by Running Press.  It is an invaluable source for enjoying the richness and variety of the world’s most popular beverage.
