History

Teekampagne's LogoTeekampagne was initiated over 20 years ago by Guenter Faltin, professor of business education, as an entrepreneurial example for his students. It has evolved into a highly efficient enterprise and become the largest tea mail order business in Germany.

1985
With his Teekampagne idea, Professor Guenter Faltin founds the enterprise Projektwerkstatt (literally "workshop for projects" - in today's parlance, an incubator).

1988
The Tea Board of India, the official Indian tea authority, grants the right to use its seal of authenticity, which certifies 100% pure Darjeeling. Teekampagne is the first German company to receive this right.

1992
The steep slopes of the tea gardens are endangered by soil erosion. Guenter Faltin initiates a reforestation project for the Darjeeling region. Ever since, Project SERVE - Save the Environment and Regenerate Vital Employment - has been funded by Teekampagne.

1995
Teekampagne becomes the market leader in the German tea mail order business. Projektwerkstatt hits the market with a new entrepreneurial idea: designer armchairs made from water hyacinths, a tropical weed.

1996
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) takes over the local implementation of SERVE. The project is financed solely by Teekampagne.

1997
According to the Tea Board of India, Teekampagne has become the world's largest importer of Darjeeling tea.

2000
To monitor the quality of its tea in India, Teekampagne hires the renowned Swiss institute Societe Surveillance (SGS), considered the world's most reliable monitor of product quality.
Teekampagne is invited to the World Exposition (Expo 2000) in Hanover, Germany, where it displays and serves its Darjeeling tea in the VIP lounge and in the press club of the German Pavillion.

2001
