The Idea: Campaign
"Campaign" is the translation of German "Kampagne." It refers to three
aspects of our company:
The name "Teekampagne" derives from the fact that originally, back in
1985, we sold our tea in "campaigns" -- i.e. at certain times of the
year and in certain places only. Tea stores extremely well for long
periods. Thus, we encouraged our customers to buy their year's supply
at one of these "campaign" events.
Today, in the age of the Internet, our Darjeeling tea is available from
our website year-round. But then as now the term "campaign" speaks to
our economic vision: to enable our customers to buy pure Darjeeling tea
at an extravagantly small price. This vision requires that we
"campaign" to educate consumers about our business model: we limit
ourselves to Darjeeling, import directly from India, and sell in large
packages; specializing in Darjeeling tea allows us to carry out the
strictest inspections and select the very best quality. Informed
consumers are our most loyal partners.
Finally, "campaign" refers to what our customers do: spread the word!
Our company has grown by word of mouth, not by traditional marketing
methods. The money we save lowers the price for our customers. Help us
to keep our prices low!
