Welcome to the Boston Tea Campaign! I am Günter Faltin, the founder of Teekampagne, the largest mail order tea business in Germany. According to the Tea Board of India, we have been the world’s largest single importer of Darjeeling leaf tea since 1998.

When I was a student of economics, I discovered that entrepreneurship is the key to making economics exciting and consequential. When I became a professor of economics, I started to think about creating my own enterprise. Noticing that tea was sold at shockingly high prices, I looked for ways to challenge the traditional tea market. I created a new business model based on the principle of simplicity, which allows selling the world's best Darjeeling tea at outrageously low prices.

Making a world-famous tea affordable for everyone has made Teekampagne the market leader for Darjeeling tea in Germany. Convinced that this concept can be successful in other countries as well, we have started doing business in Japan as Teeidee and, just recently, in the United States as Boston Tea Campaign.

Today – twenty years after Teekampagne was launched – I teach the principle of simplicity, and I invite my students to become entrepreneurs themselves. I extend this invitation to you as well.
