are an offspring of
Teekampagne
(Tea Campaign), located in Germany.
According to the Tea Board of India, Teekampagne is the
world’s largest importer of Darjeeling leaf tea.
We cherish simplicity. Our radical
simplicity rests on several economic principles.
These principles work together to make an exclusive product affordable:
One type of tea:
We sell a single type of tea, but the very best: Darjeeling.
Darjeeling tea is
grown at extreme altitudes on the slopes of the Himalayas in
India. It has a unique and distinct flavor; its annual
harvest is limited. Darjeeling is often called the
“champagne among teas.”
Large packages:
We sell in large packages. This reduces costs for packaging
material and storage.
Direct sale to the
customer:
Focusing on one type of tea allows us to purchase large quantities of
finest Darjeeling
directly in India, cutting out the middlemen. Buying in bulk
reduces costs.
The 'campaign’ method:
Inform the consumer! Our customers value the power of our
simple and radical approach: We save on
transportation, storage, and packaging. You get pure
Darjeeling tea at an affordable price.
Purity

Our
buying power enables us to select our Darjeeling tea most carefully
and to submit it to the most stringent tests for purity and
taste. We only buy from those gardens that refrain from using
pesticides and artificial fertilizers. Each batch of tea is
tested several times for chemical residues. Only the very
best quality is selected. We publish the result of these
chemical analyses on each package.
Ecology

Replanting
trees is essential for reversing soil erosion on the steep
slopes of the Darjeeling region. In 1992, Teekampagne
initiated the Project SERVE – Save the Environment and
Regenerate Vital Employment – to address this need.
SERVE, funded entirely by Teekampagne, is implemented by the World Wide
Fund for Nature (WWF).
